Medical Director

SEHC is looking for a full-time Medical Director (Family Med/Internal Med physician) to join our strong provider team as we look to continue to grow and expand our services to the community. Our team prioritizes the delivery of high quality patient care and providers spending time with patients.

St. Elizabeth’s Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been carrying out its mission to provide high-quality health care to the uninsured and underserved in Southern Arizona since 1961.

SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for directing the delivery of all primary care services and related medical activities at the Health Center. Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to provide optimal medical services, develop new medical services or implement methods to improve clinical management, assist in increasing patient encounters.

The position requires 24 hours/week for patient care and 16 hours/week for participation in various administrative/clinical meetings and/or clinical planning.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Doctor of Medicine degree (M.D./D.O.) from an accredited medical or osteopathic school; 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding of the financial aspects of the clinic.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Licensure from the Board of Medical Examiners, State of Arizona
  • Current DEA certificate, renewed as required by law
  • CPR certification
  • State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Arizona Driver License and proof of insurance

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bilingual in Spanish (verbal and written) - required

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school
  • Previous work experience with medically underserved populations preferred

To be determined based on experience and educational background.
